Dylan Thomas' boat house at Laugharne, CarmarthenshireWelcome to Sandra Phillips Art!

Here you can view and buy my watercolours, oils, pastels and mixed media paintings of landscapes from all over Wales, offering some of the most beautiful and varied scenery in the British Isles.

Pendine Sands, site of many land speed record attemptsCapture the tranquillity of Dylan Thomas's boat house in Laugharne... take home a lasting memory of a holiday visit to Tenby... revisit the Gower peninsula, an area of outstanding natural beauty... shiver at the wreck of the Helvetia, still visible in the sand at Rhossili Bay... relive the land speed record attempts at Pendine Sands.

As well as Laugharne and Pendine, where I live, much of my painting is inspired by the beauty and spectacular views offered by our three Welsh National Parks.

The Brecon Beacons National Park is a landscape of contrasts, with windswept, rugged mountains and sheltered valleys, remote moorland and waterfalls, busy market towns and isolated farms. Pen-y-Fan is the highest mountain in South Wales at 886 metres. Wispy cloud caresses the peaks and dives into the valley below. This is one of the most atmospheric places to paint in Britain.

Tal-y-Llyn lake, at the foot of Cader Idris in SnowdoniaThe sheer slopes, hidden lakes and unspoilt mountains of Snowdonia (Eryri) are a magnet for artists and other visitors interested in the area's history, nature and outdoor activities. The artists' colony at Betws-y-Coed, on the edge of Snowdonia, flourished in the late 19th century and helped to form a distinct Welsh artistic identity. Tal-y-Llyn Lake (near the Talyllyn Steam Railway) sits at the foot of Cadair Idris, a favourite destination for climbing and walking.

Sunset, Dinas Head and Parrog Beach, Newport, PembrokeshirePembrokeshire Coast National Park boasts some of the most varied and picturesque scenery in Wales. From the glorious sunsets and golden sands of Newport (Trefdraeth) to the rugged coastline near Abereiddi, to the unusual rock formations of Marloes Sands, to the stark beauty of the Preseli Hills, reputed home of the Stonehenge bluestones, this is an area where almost every feature of the landscape offers itself as a suitable subject for the artist.
